Intradermal injections are a prevalent medical procedure, with a global administration of approximately 500 million injections, and in India alone, 100 million are administered. These injections specifically target the intradermal region just below the skin surface.
The widely used Mantoux method for intradermal injections involves inserting a hypodermic needle at a tangential angle, often causing discomfort. This method demands a high skill level and frequent retraining of healthcare workers. Studies indicate that up to 70% of these injections may miss their intended depth.
Over the last 5 years, our team has successfully developed a design that addresses these challenges. Our solution is not only independent of practitioner skill, making it accessible for widespread use, but it also ensures a pain-free experience for patients.Â
